But honestly? Even if Adobe would cut all their perpetual efforts, right here and right now? I'm still left with an amazing (IMO!) "Media suite" where I can enhance / edit both still images as well as build up videos. Nothing is certain, nothing is carved in stone. But at the same time it's also fair to state that Adobe are being serious about all their sale models. Don't get me wrong: I definitely agree that the focus and emphasis is on subscriptions. Pardon me, but I'm having a rather different view on things. But so far I am not much tempted.Īnd before we start conspiracy theories: I'm still using my 2019 PE version on an old laptop of mine. Now, at the time of writing, I can easily upgrade my "Elements 2022" suite to 2023 if I so desire, with an upgrade discount applied as well of course. That Microsoft store purchase? That was back in 2019. The year after that I upgraded this full suite, with discount, solely using the Adobe website. Back then I decided to go all out and I nabbed the full "Elements suite": the combination of Photoshop (Elements) and Premiere (Elements) combined. when the next version came along I got tempted so I registered my version on the Adobe website, and in return I was provided a substational upgrade discount. I could use it without ever bothering myself with Adobe themselves. What I'm referring to: My first Photoshop Elements was a purchase on the Microsoft store. And even acknowledges 3rd party purchases. It only gets worse (or better!) from here on, depending on how you look at things: Adobe even provides you with upgrade discounts. And not only in the US, they also have localized versions of this as well (which is why I linked the Dutch version). on the Adobe website itself out of all places. Photoshop Elements: a trimmed down yet still very featurefull rich version of Photoshop which can be purchased. You make it sound as if Adobe doesn't want the hint of 'perpetual' to get even near their own website and yet.
